How To Do Post-Lockdown Normal

How To Do Post-Lockdown Normal

Posted by Starner Styles on Jun 1st 2020

  1. Shopping After Lockdown, but the Smart Way

With Lockdowns slowly lifting across the country, we’ll finally be able to step back into the sunshine. Some are heading back to work. Beaches are opening up for the summer. It’s going to look different, but we’re still moving forward.

As we start heading back to the office, we might feel like its time to update the wardrobe. It always feels great to get a fresh item or two into the closet.

Go over this checklist of smart things to do to make sure you’re being smart about your purchases:

  • Measure yourself against the size chart. Every brand is different, so make sure your purchase is a keeper by buying the right size.
  • Check reviews. Are things running a size small? Size up. Phew, saved yourself a return label.
  • Check your closet. (Do you already own a cardigan just like that?)

2. Bring Good Habits With You

You probably got really used to cooking your own meals during Lockdown, right?

“Cook more at home” shows up on a lot of New Years resolutions and because of our global situation, you have been forced to actually do this one. Take advantage of it and continue your new clean eating habits with a batch meal prep day. One veggie lasagna cooks up in 1 hour and makes lunches all week!

What about family meals or gatherings? It’s no secret your life is busy. Before COVID-19, you probably never saw the people in your own home. But the quarantine has made it possible to get reacquainted. This is a tradition worth continuing. Keep family dinners, game nights, and movie marathon alive as we go forward into 2020.

3. Communication

We rely on nonverbal cues when we talk. Face masks make it difficult to tell if someone is smiling or upset. So make sure we just call it like it is and open up to each other.

While we do what we can to keep the most vulnerable healthy, here are some communication tips to keep things running smoothly:

  • Be very vocal. Tell her that you’re pushing your cart to the left or ask if he’d like to get at the English Breakfast, too.
  • Call out and work through a misunderstanding in the moment. Please, thank you, and common courtesy goes far.
  • Be a good team member to others who are out.

We at Starner Styles are here to make you day a little brighter. We love seeing the transformation in someone’s face when they throw on their favorite paisley kimono. We understand life looks different now. So if we can offer a little bit of normalcy to your day, that’s what we’re here for.
