The Personal Styling Secret Ingredient

You want to kick your feet up on the porch and sip some ice tea with your Amor right about now, right? But what’s that over there? Dark clouds are rolling in!

That’s the thing about summers in the Midwest. They are hot, humid, and stormy. You’ll have to take that iced tea inside.

Our current living situations have certainly forced changes in our habits and routines. Perhaps one of the most notable is our social lives. We are doing coffee dates, birthdays, and graduations over video chat. We are ramping up the amount of remote work and adjusting to taking those conference calls between walking the dog and dishes.

At the mid-point of the summer, the country is beginning to open back up and there are slightly more opportunities to go out. This can mean it is finally time to peek inside the closet to see what’s in there. I think there are three things that you absolutely need to have.

The three things you need:

1. Something super comfy. I love versatile style. I thank my lucky stars that fashion allows for such individuality and playfulness. I can run errands in my adorable paisley tiered maxi dress or I can throw a blazer over it, switch out the accessories and I am church or work-ready.
   
2. Something a little dressy. I adore a dressy look. Even if I’m not going anywhere, it makes me feel executive. I have juuust a little more edge, precision, and focus when I decide to elevate my day look. To give that look some extra life, I dress it down with a denim jacket and boots. Now I’ve got a totally new look to tackle my to-do list!

3. A little secret weapon. This is one thing your friends and family probably don’t have. They probably don’t even know it is an option for them. But you’re a savvy lady. You know how to make the most of your time and pocketbook. 
   
   You have a personal stylist. You call up Darlene every once and a while, tell her what events you’ve got on the calendar and she goes to work pulling your next favorite outfit! You love seeing the pictures on your phone of the options or just being old-fashioned surprised when it arrives in the mail!
